How do I get rid of Arcade Safari from my computers. It appeared uninvited on my older HP Tower about two months back. Just bought a new HP Tower and its still there. I only loaded business info on the new computer.

Jim, I am assuming your problem happens with your browser. Arcade Safari is a browser add-on that will appear in either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. You usually get this unwanted add-on as a result of downloading "free premium games" from arcadesafari.com. Otherwise, it came as part of an install package from another freeware program and during the install process, the option to have this add-on was not unchecked. In any event, there are detailed instructions on how to remove this unwanted add-on at this site: http://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/7160-remove-arcade-safari-adware

I would suggest that you do install a browser add-on to help keep you from getting these unwanted annoyances by warning you of the dangers. The recommendation is to use WOT (Web of Trust). It lets you know, by a traffic light system (red, yellow, green) if a site is safe or not, or if you should use caution. This may help you prevent this kind of unwanted stuff in the future.

Please comment back and let us know if you were successful in removing this. Thank you.

Forgot to mention that WOT (https://www.mywot.com/) has a caution warning on the arcadesafari.com website to let you know that you should be wary of this site.

Arcade Safari is a ‘PUP’ – a potentially unwanted program. Removal isn’t hard (it’s not a virus.) First try this, http://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/7160-remove-arcade-safari-adware which shows how to uninstall it. Instructions to remove most PUPs can be found by a simple Google search, for example: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=remove+arcade+safari
But if you have one PUP, you probably have more. Not too long ago I wrote a paper that details the steps to clear most of the ‘crap’ off your computer. It has the same steps that I’d take if you brought it in. Suggestions on how I can improve this paper are requested, seems like I’ve been sending it out quite a few times!
