Comcast Customers - heed warning!
A new audio pop-up scam has started going around in some areas targeting Comcast customers. A pop-up will suddenly appear on your monitor requiring you to close the pop-up to make it go away. A woman's voice warns you that your computer has been compromised making you in jeopardy of "serious security threats". The audio warning insists you call the toll-free number immediately to reach Comcast support.
IT'S A SCAM!
If you call the number you will actually be talking to the crooks who want access to your computer, and may ask for your social security number and other info, and then they steal your personal information.
DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER!
