Reports are that Edge, the new Microsoft browser which will replace Internet Explorer in Windows 10 (coming out sometime this summer) will be a leaner, meaner, cleaner Web browser that should be able to compete in speed and performance of its competition - Chrome, Firefox, Safari, et al.
Some new features are slated to include using a drawing tool to take notes on the Internet and a voice assistant, Cortana, which gets "smarter" the more you use it.
Also, because Windows 10 will have a universal app store, for those who use smartphones, tablets and PCs, you will have the option of not using a browser at all for a favorite site which has a dedicated app. Edge will show you which of your favorite sites has an app and will offer a download link.
The short video below shows some of the Edge features, and info about Hololens, basically a computer you wear on your face (read more here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-hololens/en-us).
